Start with drawings and the control scope
Provide electrical schematics, a bill of materials where available and a description of the machine or process. Identify power circuits, control circuits, motors, drives, PLC and HMI requirements, field interfaces and preferred component brands. Clearly state which equipment is included in the panel supply.
Specify supply ratings and SCCR
Include voltage, phases, frequency, load information and the required short-circuit current rating (SCCR). UL describes Supplement SB as an accepted method for determining panel SCCR. The project electrical designer should provide the site requirements; do not select a rating by comparing enclosure sizes or a single component rating.
Define the enclosure and installation
State indoor or outdoor use, environmental conditions, enclosure type requirements, dimensions, mounting, cable entries and service access. Include heat loads and cooling requirements for review. Any enclosure rating must apply to the proposed finished configuration.
Separate panel listing from equipment acceptance
A UL Listed industrial control panel does not automatically certify the complete machine it controls. State whether the project also requires separate equipment certification or destination-specific acceptance. Identify the proposed manufacturing entity and applicable listing documentation during submittal review.
What to send to SHEENYI
Send schematics, BOM, supply ratings, required SCCR, enclosure requirements, quantity and delivery destination. SHEENYI can source UL Listed industrial control panels built to UL 508A, with the offered assembly and documentation defined in the quotation.
